About
Air scent, Tracking, and Trailing
When a person goes missing in south central Virginia, search and rescue dogs are often called in to help. We here at ATT search & rescue dogs are here to help!
We are currently training rescue animals specifically for our region. Training these dogs is not easy. It can take up to two years, and every step of the process has to be documented. However, every bit of time and effort spent working with these animals will be worth it for the benefit it will give to this region.
ATT (Air scent, Tracking, and Trailing) search & rescue dogs is a new search group forming in the south central part of Virginia. We want to become a state resource to fill a need for search dogs in our local area. We hope to be organized and certified very soon.
We have members in Pittsylvania County, Franklin County, and Halifax County. We will be training to the standards adopted by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. We are looking to possibly join the state SAR council this fall.
We are currently seeking qualified animals to get trained and state certified to join our team. Any donations to the organization are gladly accepted though.
